As dissapointed as I was with the Winterand '77 Box, you have to be pleased with the format of the last two complete show boxed set releases (with their bonus discs). The '73 nine disc product was fantastic, hopefully a couple more of these three-show runs are in the pipeline for 2010!

Personally, I'm jonsesing for something from 1969, perhaps a box of the Arc shows from April or the December Tea Party run. Or better yet one of the two incredible Avalon stands from that year!

Anyone hear any rumors or have any information on what we can expect, perhaps by February '10 if this series of Vault Releases is continued?

What commercial releases would you like to see?

Well I would love to see the Winterland 2/74 run released but I doubt that will happen. I agree with dilcurrie that re-releasing the Fillmore '69 box makes a lot of sense for a variety of reasons. How about the '80 shows from NO? We now know that they have some of that material in the vault.

Seems like a logical candidate for release, Larry. It certainly would complete a very cool trilogy of Winterand boxes!

It probably wouldn't be one you'd buy Cliff, but I'd love a set of 16/17/19 october 1981. Offhand I can't remember any 1981 official releases, and this was their last consistently good tour.

I'm pretty well done with dropping a lot of coin on Dead music I already have in decent to listenable quality, so it would have to be something pretty earth-shattering (like a previously unknown stash of 11/5-8/70 boards or something) for me to seriously consider it. $80 to $100 is hard for me to justify when I've already got hundreds shows and could take the wife and kid out instead.

The Road Trips series gets ripped for all sorts of things (shitty packaging, chopped up shows, etc) but it's a little more in my price range these days. Like we've talked about around here before, CD sets are on the ropes anyway.

I'm hoping none of the above. New show gets released, soundboards get pulled, and I think even the matrix mixes (courtesy of Hunter Seamons et. al.) get pulled. I really like the aud/sbd matrixes, many are IMHO superior to the boards / Dick's Picks releases and I'd hate to see them go.

First choice would be anything from 1970.
Second choice would be the Orpheum run from July 1976.

Great choices!

I think everyone would be pleased with another acoustic set or two from 1970, and an Orpheum box might be nice...

June '76 rules, huge fan of the mellow groove. Have most of it, but I'd buy it anyway, regardless!

Pretty cool, could be worse! Deadmax will be happy...

May '78?? Already I would say they picked the wrong month of '78. The April shows were way better! I saw two of them that year, Nashville and Lexington. Besides, they already did a Dick's Picks from May '78, DP 25 with 5/10/78 and 5/11/78.

If they hadn't released parts of the February 1970 Fillmore East run in dribs and drabs on DP 4 and Bears Choice instead of each show in it's entirety, the way they need to be heard, that would have also made a great box set! Charlie Miller put out amazing copies of the 2/13 and 2/14/70 shows. I would love to hear a release of the vault copy of 2/11/70.

A re-release of the filmore 69 box set would be a bloody good idea for all of those poor sods not quick enough to get a copy - also would stop profiteering scum from charging up to $2000 on ebay for it. If they can rerelease winterland 73...

I would imagine it will be 1980 Oakland Kaiser Holiday run or 1981 Berkeley Greek Theater run.
